About Vivekananda Vijnan Mission (VVM)

Vivekananda Vijnan Mission (VVM), the West Bengal chapter of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), is dedicated to promoting the scientific heritage of Bharat, advancing Swadeshi sciences, and popularizing science in regional languages. The mission focuses on the revival and integration of ancient Indian scientific practices with modern science and technology to build a self-reliant and progressive India, with special emphasis on West Bengal.

At Vivekananda Vijnan Mission (VVM), we are dedicated to revitalizing India’s scientific heritage while advancing Swadeshi sciences. Our mission is to inspire innovation, integrate traditional Indian scientific practices with modern technology, and empower communities to build a self-reliant and progressive nation.

We envision a future where the wisdom of ancient Indian sciences harmoniously blends with contemporary advancements, fostering sustainable growth, innovation, and scientific excellence. By making science accessible to all, especially through regional languages, we aim to nurture a society driven by knowledge, critical thinking, and self-reliance.

Aayams

The sub-organizations mentioned are collectively referred to as “Aayams” under the umbrella of Vivekananda Vijnan Mission (West Bengal Prant of Vijnana Bharati). Each “Aayam” represents a focused area of activity within the larger mission to integrate science, education, and societal development. Here’s a summary of their purposes:

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM)

Purpose: To instill scientific curiosity and foster a scientific temperament among school students.

Key Activities: Conducting national-level science talent examinations, organizing state and national camps, facilitating visits to research institutions, and promoting experiential learning.

NASYA (National Ayurveda Students and Youth Association)

Purpose: To promote Ayurveda and traditional Indian knowledge systems.

Key Activities: Organizing seminars, educational journeys focusing on medicinal plants, health awareness programs, and integration of Ayurveda into modern health solutions.

Kolkata Nivedita Shakti (KNS):

Purpose: To promote women’s empowerment, rural development, and girls’ participation in science and education.

Key Activities: Internet awareness programs, village development initiatives, health camps, and workshops on science and culture.

Shiksha Shilpi West Bengal

Purpose: To empower educators and improve science teaching methods.

Key Activities: Residential workshops on experiential learning and hands-on experiments for teachers, with a focus on innovative educational practices.

VIBHA VANI India

Purpose: To build capacity among grassroots organizations and promote a Bharatiya model of science and education.

Key Activities: Providing platforms for grassroots organizations to share knowledge, facilitating workshops for government project implementation, promoting swadeshi science, and running organic product outlets.

Note: Each Aayam operates with a specific focus but contributes to the overarching goals of Vivekananda Vijnan Mission—integrating science with education, societal upliftment, and national development, inspired by the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.
